The Ministry issued a statement on Monday, saying companies that “fail to comply with annual Emiratisation targets will be required to pay financial contributions starting from January 2024, in line with Emiratisation policies and decisions.”
These companies, which operate in various fields, offer various jobs to the Emirati nationals via Nafis programme’s website.
The announcement marks a significant milestone, representing a jump of nearly 157 per cent compared to the number of Emiratis working in the private sector since the launch of the Nafis programme in September 2021.
MoHRE issued a statement, calling on companies subject to the decision to “quickly meet their Emiratisation targets and avoid delaying it until the end of the year.”
Total contributions due in January 2023 from companies that have not achieved the required target in 2022 amounted to approximately Dhs400 million.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation aims to double the Emiratisation target for private sector by end of 2023 and to avoid imposition of financial contributions by the beginning of 2024.
The minister said, “More than 9,000 companies adhered to the Emiratisation standards during 2022, and a thousand companies tried to meet the Emiratisation rate.”
The move is in line with the Cabinet’s decision. No. 44 of 2023 amending some provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. 95 of 2022 regarding violations and administrative penalties related to the initiatives and programs of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council “Nafis”.
